"Anybody can breathe, therefore anyone can practice yoga."

Sri Patthabi Jois

YOGA

I completed my training in traditional Hatha Yoga in Costa Rica with the Yoga Alliance certificate. I teach three different styles of yoga that complement each other wonderfully: Traditional Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin. In each style, the focus is on mindfulness and how you can apply this to everyday life.

My classes usually start with warm-up exercises, followed by breathing techniques and meditation, and end after the asanas (postures) with a relaxation phase.

All classes can take place either virtually or at a location of your choice in Birmingham.

Traditional Hatha

Traditional Hatha

Hatha is originally the physical practice of yoga. Due to the different interpretations of yoga and the development of yoga styles, the term Hatha Yoga is now used for calmer movement sequences. I like to hold the asanas a little longer so that you have enough time to perform the posture correctly and to find some peace and strengthen yourself mentally. You will find that you are stronger and have more endurance than you think.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a gentle, meditative form of yoga and focuses on static-passive postures, which are usually held sitting or lying down for between 2 and 5 minutes. The muscles are relaxed to stimulate the deep layers of connective tissue, such as fascia, ligaments and tendons. During the longer poses, you are encouraged to focus on your breath and your inner state to create a deeper connection with yourself. Yin yoga is a valuable addition to active yoga styles such as Vinyasa and Hatha yoga, but also to other muscle-strengthening workouts.

Mindful Vinyasa

Mindful Vinyasa

Mindful Vinyasa is a flowing yoga practice that synchronizes breath and movement. This harmony creates a feeling of dynamic flow and simultaneous presence. Your pulse might beat a little faster compared to other styles, but mindfulness is not neglected. Mindful Vinyasa promotes stress relief and relaxation as you learn to be in the present moment and clear the mind of disturbing thoughts.

INDIVIDUAL CLASS

Do you have special goals or would you like to be independent of time and place? Would you like to be introduced to yoga step by step? There are many reasons for individual classes. Here I have the opportunity to respond to your very individual needs. Every person is unique and has a different idea or expectation of yoga. In one-to-one classes, I prepare the classes in a completely personalized way to suit your needs.

GROUP CLASS

Do you have a small group of friends or colleagues and would like to practice yoga together? You decide which style, how long the class should last and where it can take place. A varied alternative to classic leisure activities in a group and the exchange of experiences after class can lead to very valuable insights.

BUSINESS YOGA

More and more companies rely on shared exercise breaks during working hours. Business yoga programs promote mental relaxation and physical health among employees, resulting in reduced stress, increased productivity and increased well-being in the workplace. Joint yoga classes also promote team cohesion and improve interpersonal communication, which has a positive impact on the working atmosphere. Of course, the classes can be designed individually in terms of style and length.

Business Yoga
Nilda is a great yoga teacher. With her keen sense she has always tailored the classes wonderfully to my and my body's needs. The weekly sessions with her were very varied, her attentive corrections of my postures extremely helpful and over all the weeks and months I have built up more inner peace, flexibility and strength thanks to her. I was very impressed by her profound knowledge and her enthusiasm for yoga was contagious. After the classes with her I always felt like a newborn, full of vitality and energy. I can highly recommend Nilda.
